Azalea Vision raises €9M Series A to advance smart lens platform for ocular health

What does Azalea Vision do?

Azalea Vision is a Belgian ocular health company that is developing a medically intelligent smart lens platform designed to sense, adapt, and interact in real time, addressing complex vision conditions and enabling remote diagnostics.

How much did they raise?

The company raised €9M as part of a €15M Series A round, with lead investors SPRIM Global Investments and Afrimobility supporting the extension funding.

What are their plans for the money?

Azalea Vision intends to use the funds to execute its first-in-human pilot clinical trial, a critical step in proving the safety and performance of its innovative technology, which could significantly impact ocular diagnostics and targeted therapies.

What have they achieved so far?

Founded in 2021 as a spin-off from imec and Ghent University, Azalea Vision has already demonstrated progress with its smart lens platform and strengthened its leadership with the appointment of Robert J. Dempsey as Chairman to guide strategic growth in key markets.
