Its modular solid state transformer technology allows renewable energy, storage, and data center developers to directly connect to medium voltage transmission without traditional transformers.

How much did they raise?

The company raised $38M in its Series A round, led by Capricorn Investment Group’s Technology Impact Fund with participation from Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Energy Impact Partners, Gigascale Capital, Powerhouse Ventures, Valor Equity Partners, JB Straubel, and Zach Kirkhorn. This round brings its total funding to $43M.

What are their plans for the money?

Heron Power plans to use the funds to expand its team and complete the engineering of its Heron Link solution, aiming for an internal pilot in 2026, partner installations in early 2027, and eventually manufacturing in the US.
